The 20th century is developing at breakneck pace, with aviation at the forefront of innovation and discovery. It is against this backdrop that the Bayerische Motoren Werke (or BMW) is founded on March 6, 1916. From 1917, each of the company’s products proudly displays the BMW emblem, which incorporates the state colours of Bavaria. At the end of the 1920s, the emblem makes its first appearance in the company’s advertising as a rotating propeller, a graphic symbol that will be used for years to come. 100 years later, we are serving BMW proudly under the blue-white emblem, nowadays enlarged with sustainable and enjoyable values: technology of the future, performance, design, passion. Everything we did during the past 100 years and everything we shall do for the next 100 years to come, will clearly serve two purposes: create emotion and build rational decision arguments.
